Stockeld Park lights up with dazzling projections for the most magical Christmas in Yorkshire!
A New and Improved Light Show
Stockeld Park, home of the renowned Christmas Adventure, which was established in 2007 as the pioneer of outdoor Christmas light shows in Yorkshire, has pushed the boat out on the lake within its Enchanted Forest, to provide a new and improved one-of-a-kind projection light show. Costing over £100,000, magical mystical and ethereal figures appear as if by magic, floating over the lake water, as dazzling lights dance to the music, and incredible projections light up the sky.
The Most Spectacular Light Show Yet
Peter & Susie Grant, owners of Stockeld Park, said that it was the Park’s most spectacular light show yet, of which all involved should be justly proud. “Anybody can come to enjoy the illuminations, young or old, with or without children, and they are perfect for romantic evenings in our quieter times which tend to be Mon- Thurs in November and early December”, said Peter.
Fantastical Illuminated Installations
Other features new to Stockeld Park’s Enchanted Forest for this year are some fantastical illuminated installations comprising giant butterflies, jackalopes, phoenixes and griffins.

It is all go as the Wetherby-based Stockeld Park gets ready to present its Christmas Adventure for the 16th consecutive year, opening from the 19th of November 2022 and running through to the 3rd of January 2023. As well as the renowned Christmas Illuminations within the Enchanted Forest, the Christmas Adventure comprises Santa’s Grotto, real ice-skating on a 630 Sq Mt covered ice rink, a Christmas in Oz pantomime, and an illuminated maze with over a mile of paths, and much more besides.
A Program of Major Investments
The new lighting projection display follows a program of major investment in the park which saw the opening this summer of Stockeld’s newest creation, the 3.5-million-pound Playhive, a 20,000 square-foot one-of-a-kind indoor Play centre, with 4 unique interactive play zones, for both adults and children to enjoy! The only one of its kind!
Said Peter Grant, “the Playhive has been very well received, I think as much as anything because it introduces a novel concept of a play space where adults and children can play together, and it gives us the ability to be an all-weather venue”.

Stockeld Park’s Woodland Cafe offers home-made, locally sourced meals, cakes and snacks, ideal for when you’re ready for more substantial refuelling and relaxation.
Located in the rolling meadow at the heart of the Adventure park is the Lake View Cafe/Ice Cream Parlour. The Lake View Café provides light bites and drinks to keep you going in between activities. It is the perfect scenic spot to enjoy a delicious treat, offering eighteen different flavours of soft scoop ice cream, served in tubs or cones, together with a choice of flakes, sprinkles and sauces.
Located deep in the Enchanted Forest, Gretel’s Cabin serves yummy refreshments to enjoy as you make your way through the woodland whilst Hansel’s Slushie Hut serves a selection of hot and cold drinks and tasty snacks.
Travelling to Stockeld Park
Stockeld Park is a Grade-I listed country house and estate situated between the towns of Wetherby and Harrogate in North Yorkshire. The estate spans some 2,000 acres and broadly covers the area between Wetherby and the villages of Spofforth and Sicklinghall. The attraction is on the A661 between Wetherby and Spofforth, when using a Sat Nav, use the postcode LS22 4AN.
