Heritage Open Days 2017 offers free entry to a range of attractions around the UK giving you an opportunity to discover local attractions and national gems. Take the opportunity to gain free entry to thousands of historic attractions. The open days run from 7th to 10th September 2017. Choose from historic houses, castles and gardens across the UK. Both the National Trust and English Heritage are offering free entry to a number of their properties. There is a wide selection of attractions around the country opening their doors for free.
What is Heritage Open Days 2017?
40,000 volunteers across England organise 5,000 events every September to celebrate our fantastic history, architecture and culture. This gives everyone an opportunity to try out new experiences and see hidden places. For one weekend only all of these attractions are free to explore. Attractions include English Heritage sites, National Trust properties and much more that are not normally open to the public. You can join a tour, event or simply gain free access to a normally paid-for attraction.

Festival of History and Culture
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture. Heritage Open Days 2017 will bring together over 2,500 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. This annual event runs for four days in September. Attractions across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences all for FREE.
