It has been officially confirmed that the first Universal-branded Theme Park and Resort in Europe will open here in the UK in 2031. Once opened, it is expected to become the UK’s most popular visitor attraction.
Universal Studios UK – The Ultimate Movie-Themed Family Adventure
Universal Studios UK is one of the most anticipated entertainment destinations in the UK, bringing the magic of movies to life with thrilling rides, immersive attractions, and world-class entertainment. Inspired by the global success of Universal Studios in Orlando, Hollywood, and beyond, this UK-based theme park is a dream come true for film lovers and families looking for an unforgettable day out.

A Cinematic Wonderland
Visitors will be able to step into the world of blockbuster films and beloved TV shows. Like other Universal Theme Parks, Universal Studios UK is likely to be divided into several themed zones, each offering its own unique experiences. Here are a few examples of what we may get to see:
- Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Explore Diagon Alley, sip on Butterbeer, and experience the thrill of the Escape from Gringotts ride. This magical land is a must for Potterheads of all ages.
- Jurassic World – Come face-to-face with life-sized dinosaurs, hop aboard the VelociCoaster, and enjoy thrilling prehistoric adventures.
- Minion Mayhem – Younger visitors will love the vibrant and silly world of the Minions. Expect interactive games, family-friendly rides, and plenty of mischief.
- Fast & Furious Zone – Buckle up for high-speed chases and explosive stunt shows in this action-packed area inspired by the iconic movie franchise.
- SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ – discover a new way to play as you step into the worlds of beloved Nintendo characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Donkey Kong.
There are multiple Universal theme parks already, including ones in Orlando in Florida, Hollywood, Japan, Beijing, and Singapore. The most recent park to open and one of the most highly anticipated theme parks is Universal Epic Universe in Orlando.

What Attractions are Likely to Be at the New Universal Theme Park?
Universal Studios UK is likely to offer something for everyone, from high-octane rollercoasters to gentle rides perfect for little ones.
From the concept art, we can see the iconic Universal Globe in front of the park entrance. The main entrance leads onto the main street with what looks like the hotel on the left-hand side overlooking the lake, which is at the centre of the park.

There is likely to be a family selection within the park with a selection of rides catering for younger children.
The UK’s Tallest Roller Coaster?
The roller coaster on the left-hand side of the concept art appears to include a spike with what may be multiple launch tracks. It is possible that this new roller coaster may claim the title of the tallest roller coaster in the UK, a record that is currently held by the recently opened Hyperia at Thorpe Park. Adjacent to the roller coaster is an amphitheatre which is likely to host some form of live show.

Large Themed Area Featuring Another Roller Coaster
At the back of the park, there appears to be a large themed area, which could be based around one of the many Universal films or TV shows. It appears that this section of the park also features another roller coaster along with possible drop tower rides and another large theatre.
Minions Themed Area?
The conceptual art for the right-hand side of the park features a very similar design to Minion Land at Universal Studios Bejing.

A Brand New Theme Park Masterplanned from the Ground Up
Most UK parks have grown organically overtime, often using the existing infrastructure of zoos or stately homes. This will be a rare chance for the UK to get a major theme park, master planned from the ground up. This will also create opportunities that other UK theme parks didn’t have.
The new Universal Theme Park will be one of the largest and most advanced in Europe, featuring a theme park with immersive storytelling, rides, entertainment, a 500-room hotel. A retail and entertainment complex are planned alongside the theme park, which will be built on a former brickworks in Bedfordshire.
