High Adventure Experiences at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

High Adventure Experiences take participants on a guided, after-hours tour of the park’s most iconic Blackpool Pleasure Beach attractions, climbing the lift hills and exploring exclusive maintenance areas that most visitors will never get to see.

Two Thrilling VIP Experiences

The High Adventure Experiences program comprises two separate, heart-pounding guided climbs: Walk The Big One and the extended Walk The Big One XL. Both experiences are strictly limited to just six people per time slot and take place in the evening after the main park has closed to the public. Following a pre-walk presentation, a full safety briefing, and harness fitting, groups are expertly guided up the coaster structure by the ride operations team.

Walk The Big One (£90.00)

Walk The Big One offers guests the ultimate chance to walk the 235ft lift hill of the UK’s most iconic hypercoaster. Escorted by the operations team, the 60-minute ascent pauses every 50ft to allow climbers to catch their breath, learn fascinating mechanical insights, and take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Fylde Coast.

From September onwards, the views become extra special as they overlook the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations. This incredible 235ft vantage point offers fantastic photo opportunities of the entire 42-acre amusement park, giving you an unprecedented birds-eye view of legendary coasters like ICON, Grand National, and Infusion.

Walk the Big One XL (£155.00)

For the ultimate coaster enthusiast, Walk The Big One XL is an in-depth, extended version of the standard climb. Alongside ascending the 420 steps to the 235ft summit, participants get exclusive access to the ride’s maintenance areas to gain a deep mechanical insight into how this colossal machine operates.

The XL experience also ventures out to two additional exciting points on the ride’s structure, offering unique, unseen viewing angles of Blackpool Pleasure Beach and the stunning seafront that standard walkers never get to witness.

Essential Safety Requirements

Because these climbs are physically demanding and take place at extreme heights on uneven, industrial surfaces, there are strict safety guidelines in place for all bookings:

• Age & Height: Minimum age of 12 years old, and a minimum height of 1.32m.
• Footwear: Sensible, sturdy footwear or walking boots with excellent grip must be worn (these are not supplied by the park).
• Mobility: Participants must be able to walk completely unaided, securely hold onto handrails, and properly wear the supplied safety harnesses and helmets.
• Weather: As an exposed outdoor experience, climbs may be postponed or cancelled in the event of high winds or stormy weather.
