Minecraft World is officially coming to Chessington World of Adventures Resort in 2027! Created as part of a landmark £50 million partnership between Mojang Studios and Merlin Entertainments, the world’s first fully immersive Minecraft theme park land will feature a world-first Minecraft roller coaster, block-built playscapes, immersive biomes, themed dining, and the world’s largest Minecraft retail store.

Located just a 35-minute direct train ride from London Waterloo, Minecraft World will allow friends and families to play, explore, and craft together on a truly epic scale. Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have collaborated closely to ensure every ride, attraction, and detail feels unmistakably Minecraft.

Land Redevelopment: Wild Asia & Glamping Site
To make room for this massive £50M development, Chessington has officially closed its former Wild Asia section and Explorer Glamping site. Construction teams are redeveloping the footprint into a fully pixelated Overworld biome, complete with iconic floating mountains and water features.
In a unique collaboration, Merlin and Mojang brought iconic Minecraft creators including DanTDM, Grian, Aimsey, and LDShadowLady directly on-site to help break ground and ensure the land is authentic to the global fan community.
World-First Minecraft Roller Coaster & Attractions
The centrepiece of Minecraft World will be a world-first Minecraft roller coaster with indoor and outdoor elements, taking riders on an adventurous Minecart journey past life-sized TNT blocks, Creepers, Zombies, and Nethex environments!
- World-First Roller Coaster: A hybrid minecart coaster featuring indoor dark-ride animatronic scenes and fast outdoor track sections.
- Block-Built Playscapes: Epic interactive play structures featuring Axolotl water pools, floating mountains, and climbing zones.
- The World’s Largest Minecraft Store: A massive dedicated retail store packed with exclusive merchandise, gear, and Villager character encounters.
- Immersive Themed Dining: A brand-new Minecraft restaurant serving themed food and drinks in an authentic block-built setting.

While Explorer Glamping has closed to accommodate construction, families can stay right next to the park by booking an official short break at the Safari Hotel or Azteca Hotel. Short break packages include hot breakfast, 1 or 2 days of theme park admission, and Early Ride Access.
