Paultons Park - Storm Chaser Tornado Springs

Paultons Park multi-million-pound themed world Tornado Springs, which is inspired by a 1950s town in the US is now open. Based around the theme ‘Route 83’ which pays homage to Paultons Park opening date, May 17, 1983.

Tornado Springs Rides and Attractions

Paultons Park invested £12 million in Tornado Springs, which features eight new rides and experiences including the Cyclonator, Windmill Towers, Buffalo Falls and the Trekking Tractors. There’s also themed memorabilia available to purchase at Al’s Shop and Service and Al’s Auto Academy which features 30 cars based on the Hudson Hornet.

The highlight attraction is Storm Chaser, the only free-spinning roller coaster of its kind in the UK.

Tornado Springs Theming

Set in a desert resort town of the 1950s, Tornado Springs is teaming in Americana. From vintage vehicles and decorative registration plates to the US diner serving up burgers, breakfast pancakes and shakes.

In order to acquire objects for the new area of the park, staff visited lots of places and pulled stuff out of stinging nettle patches. They bought old tractors and bikes and sprayed them up to make them look abandoned. Everything looks a bit weather-worn and beaten. The engineers added to the authentic, making things like a sparking electric box that is hanging off the side of a wall.

They also did lots of planting in the park and have stuck props in the flower beds too. When we visited we were overwhelmed by the quality of the theming comparing it with Disney standards. The effort that has gone into this is phenomenal and all these little things really add something to it.

This is just another reason why we believe that Paulton’s Park deserves the title of the ‘UK’s Best Theme Park‘ in our Top 10 Listings.
