It appears that Alton Towers may be looking to add a Dungeon walk-through attraction. The Staffordshire Theme Park has not made any official announcement yet so no opening date has been confirmed.
The Alton Towers Dungeon
A Trademark Application for ‘The Alton Towers Dungeon’ was filed with the British government on 27 June 2018. An ideal location for the attraction would be within the historic Towers themselves. Nothing has been confirmed to date so it is unclear whereabouts within Resort the Alton Towers Dungeon is likely to be located.
The Dungeons
The Dungeons are a uniquely thrilling attraction which uses a mixture of live actors and special effects. Visitors can see, hear, smell and feel historic stories come to life before their eyes. The attractions normally incorporate local history based on their location along with more generic British medieval history.
The London Dungeon attraction was the first to open in 1976, this was followed ten years later by The York Dungeon. In the year 2000, a Dungeon was opened in Edinburgh. More recently a Dungeon was added to Warwick Castle in 2009 and The Blackpool Tower in 2011.
