There’s some very exciting news coming from Chessington World of Adventures Resort as they are planning to install a new roller coaster and a selection of children’s rides.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort is part of the Merlin Entertainments group of attractions whose portfolio also includes 3 additional major UK Theme Parks which are Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park Resort and Legoland Windsor Resort. This is great news as it indicates that Merlin Entertainments are happy to continue with their investment plans despite a very challenging 2020 season.

What Type of Roller Coaster will be Added?

At this time very limited information is available but rumours suggest that it may possibly be a water coaster or an Intamin ATV Quad Bike launched roller coaster.

Intamin’s Family Launch ATV Quad Bike Coaster features a state of the art friction wheel drive system combined with a unique and highly popular vehicle design. Featuring a similar ride configuration to Velocity at Flamingo Land Resort in North Yorkshire, riders sit side by side enjoying a unique ride experience thanks to the upright seating position. The exciting launch experience is a great feature for this family-oriented ride with plenty of thrills. A similar model named Yukon Quad was recently installed at Parc Le Pal in France.

Where Will the new Attractions Be Located?

The proposed location of the new attractions is on the large field adjacent to the Wild Asia section of the Theme Park. The press release from Chessington World of Adventures Resort shown below gives a good indication of whereabouts in the park the new attractions will be located.
