Farm­ing’s annu­al open day will be taking place on Sunday 9th June 2024. Enjoy family activities including machin­ery dis­plays, trac­tor and trail­er rides, demon­stra­tions, nature walks and much more!

What is Open Farm Sunday?

LEAF Open Farm Sunday is a great family day out, with lots of activities on offer at farms across the UK. A number of the farms partaking in the event use this as an opportunity to raise funds for their chosen charities by turning it into a family fun day with bouncy castles, cake stalls, welly throwing completions (welly wanging) and more.

Open Farm Sunday gives vis­i­tors the oppor­tu­ni­ty to learn more about farm­ing and farm­ers the chance to talk about British food and farming.

Please Note that not all events will be tak­ing place on 9th June (events can take place any week­end in June), and some may require you to book tick­ets to avoid dis­ap­point­ment when you arrive.

Enjoy a Fun Day out at Your Local Farm

LEAF Open Farm Sun­day, man­aged by LEAF (Link­ing Envi­ron­ment And Farm­ing), is one of the farm­ing industry’s biggest suc­cess sto­ries. Since the first Open Farm Sun­day in 2006, over 1600 farm­ers across the UK have opened their gates and wel­comed over 2.7 mil­lion peo­ple onto farms for one Sun­day each year.

What Activities are on Offer?

Each event is unique based around the farm’s indi­vid­ual sto­ry. Activ­i­ties dur­ing the day may include a farm walk, nature trail, trac­tor and trail­er rides, demon­stra­tions, pond dip­ping, activ­i­ties for chil­dren, a mini farm­ers mar­ket or farm shop.

It is a fan­tas­tic oppor­tu­ni­ty for every­one, young and old, to dis­cov­er at first hand what it means to be a farmer and the fab­u­lous work they do pro­duc­ing our food, enhanc­ing the coun­try­side and all the goods and ser­vices farm­ers provide.
