William’s Den is a unique attraction with indoor and outdoor adventure play. A day at William’s Den harks back to a time when play was about imagination and creativity, for children to run free, to push themselves to understand risk, to learn from each other and to get hands-on with nature.
Learning Through Play
William’s Den encompasses everything the attraction’s owners enjoyed in their childhoods and all the things they think others should experience as they’re growing up too. The attraction was designed alongside Europe’s top experts in ‘learning through play’ to ensure all aspects of the playscape spark joy and imagination in young minds.
Get Hands-on with Nature
One day, whilst hosting a birthday party for their son William his parents had an incredible idea. Hearing the shrieks of joy from William and his friends as they relished the freedom and space to play outside, they realised all kids needed these wide open spaces where their imaginations could run wild.
William’s Den is a recreation of this playscape for others to enjoy. A safe place with wide open spaces where children can learn through play, push themselves, learn from each other and get hands-on with nature.
Jump the Hay Bales
There’s a secret woodland to explore plus huge hay bales to jump all over. Kids report that the attractions den-building stuff is awesome!
They have also made the great outdoors come alive inside too with a huge custom-made climbing experience built inside a ginormous play barn!
Outdoor Adventure Play
The challenging outdoor play activities and adventures at William’s Den have been expertly designed to push children’s physical and mental capabilities in a safe and exciting way.

The Perfect Family Adventure
William’s Den features wide-open spaces for children to explore to their heart’s content and connect with nature. Kids can run wild, enjoy water and sand play, climb wooden structures, whizz on zip wires and spend hours building dens from scratch. It’s the perfect family adventure.
Indoor Adventure
The indoor Den is a ‘show-stopping’ indoor playground created by renowned experts in play and built by skilled craftsmen who used sustainably sourced materials from their very own woods. The attraction features a huge six-metre-high Ancient Oak linked to a tree house, which incorporates swings, balancing pole branches, bridges and a three-metre slide into a sandpit below. There is a cascading stream, pool and rainmaker to stimulate a rain shower.
Designed so that adults and children can play together the Forest Glade and Eagles Rest are the perfect place for hide and seek.
Woodland Adventure
Time spent amongst trees is never time wasted so don’t miss the woodland walk. It is a little explorer’s dream with trails and hidden places to discover. This natural habitat is home to a range of animals and birds.
Food and Drink
You’ll need plenty of energy to join in with the kids so take advantage of the amazing homecooked food on offer. You may want to bring a mid-morning snack for the kids and some water to keep hydrated as all this playing means plenty of refuelling.
The team at William’s Den are passionate about pizza. They roll & hand stretch the dough before topping the bases with the very best of Yorkshire and British produce and finally bake them off in their wood-fired oven at 300 degrees.
There is an ice cream parlour, coffee shop and snack box where you can grab sweet treats and snacks to accompany your picnic.
