Adventure Wonderland is Dorset’s multi-award-winning family theme park, it is the perfect spot for an unforgettable day out, with rides, attractions, play areas and friendly characters, there’s so much fun for every little adventurer.
Inspired by Alice in Wonderland
The Dorset Theme Park gets its inspiration from Alice in Wonderland and children will love meeting the resident characters Alice, Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Mr Rabbit and the cheeky Cheshire Cat. Plus, throughout the year the park welcomes a number of fabulous visiting characters for the day. The wide range of exciting rides and attractions at Adventure Wonderland are aimed at families with children up to the age of 12.
Attractions at Adventure Wonderland
The theme park is set within wonderful parkland, which is great for the kids to have a good run around and a picnic. Amongst the attractions on offer is the largest natural hedge maze on the South Coast with one and a half miles of pathways. Visitors can also pat and stroke the pint-sized ponies in Shetland World and visit Wild Thing, a vast indoor Aztec adventure play centre. The large indoor space is the ideal spot to take shelter from any rain showers, with a number of activities on offer, including the interactive speed game, Jungle Zap Zone. Plus, you can also enjoy live shows at the Happydrome Theatre.
In addition to Wild Thing! the huge indoor soft play centre, there are fantastic rides and attractions throughout the park, which is split into different zones.
Wonderland
In the Wonderland section of the Theme Park, guests can experience the Adventure Wonderland Maze. Within the magnificent beech hedges, made up of 5,200 bushes, there are over 1.75 miles of paths to keep you guessing and exploring. The Adventure Wonderland Maze is the third-largest maze in the UK and was one of the principal and most fascinating attractions of the original park.
Also in this section of the park is Curvy Caterpillars Ride, which is based on the caterpillar in the Alice stories. This charming, gentle ride has been a firm family favourite for many years and brings out big beams on tiny faces every time.
Other highlight rides and attractions include Turbo Teacups, Charlie Cool’s Driving School and Jabberwocky, a 28ft high double Helta-Skelta slide.
Adventureland
There is a good collection of rides and attractions to entertain the whole family in the Adventureland section of the park. Highlights include Jungle Falls log flume, Wild Bill’s Runaway train, Battle Boats and the Ghostly Galleon pirate ship.
Food and Drink
There are a number of cafés and refreshment stations serving fresh food, hot and cold drinks and icecreams. Guests are also welcome to take their own picnic to Adventure Wonderland.
Travelling to Adventure Wonderland
Adventure Wonderland is easy to find by car, located only 10 minutes from Bournemouth and Christchurch on the B3073, opposite Bournemouth International Airport. Located at the rear of Adventure Wonderlands car park is the excellent Bournemouth Aviation Museum.
Travelling by Train
The Nearest train stations are Christchurch and Bournemouth, with busses also operating on a regular basis to Adventure Wonderland. Search for your train tickets using Raileasy.
