World’s first people-powered Roller Coaster
At GreenWood Family Park you can take a ride on the Green Dragon, the world’s first people-powered roller coaster. Constructed in early 2004 the Green Dragon is the only rollercoaster of its kind in the world, combining a traditional roller coaster with funicular technology that was developed and used 200 years ago in the slate quarries of North Wales.
The First solar-powered ride in the UK
GreenWood Family Park is bursting with eco-credentials, Solar Splash is the first solar-powered ride in the UK. The attraction boasts a huge water slide with two wave chutes, each approximately 60 metres long, alongside a spiral tube chute at 91 metres long. The ride starts at the top of a 12-metre high tower, with far-reaching views across Snowdonia, and finishes 80 metres away at ground level. A thrill ride to remember!
Additional ECO Friendly Attractions
The park really is an ECO delight. Work as a family to pull yourself along the canal using ropes and just a paddle on the Enchanted River Ride. Lying on the rainforest edge is the Dragon Maze (Britain’s only boardwalk maze) where you can test your problem-solving abilities. Become one with nature and lose your shoes and socks on The Barefoot Trail. Connected by an amazing array of netted walkways and tube slides, kids will love exploring the TreeTop Towers. One of the most popular family attractions is the magnificent Great Green Run, an amazing 70-metre Sledge Run.
Special Events
A whole host of creative workshops, entertainment and special events run throughout the year. There are some very special appearances with Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol popping in for playdates. The park is renowned for their themed week extravaganzas with the likes of SpookWood which takes place in October. The Enchanted Christmas event whisks you into a magical wonderland at the most magical time of the year.

GreenWood Family Park is located in the beautiful North Wales countryside. GreenWood is quick and easy to reach for days out from all over North Wales. Based near the Snowdonia National Park, the attraction is a short hop from the A55 coastal highway. When driving to GreenWood use the postcode LL55 3AD.
Please drive with care when you’re in the area. There are many walkers, cyclists and horse riders, and the roads can be very narrow in places.
