Set in the beautiful surroundings of Broxbourne Woods in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside, Hertfordshire Zoo offers visitors the opportunity to explore the exotic world of animals. From adventure playgrounds to farmyards and even a paddling pool, Hertfordshire Zoo has it all.

Hertfordshire Zoo, previously known as Paradise Wildlife Park and before that as Broxbourne Zoo, is a family-run wildlife park in Hertfordshire, England.
Hertfordshire Zoo
Hertfordshire Zoo is home to over 800 exotic wild animals. They care for a large collection of endangered species including Amur Tigers and black hornbills, even having the largest green anaconda on display in the UK.
Offering over 30 different animal experiences from Feeding the Big Cats, Shadowing a Keeper, Meeting the Meerkats, Tickling a Tapir to name a few. The family-run Wildlife Park is renowned for allowing visitors to get up close to the animals and educating through fun.
In addition to the many animals, families will also enjoy the children’s playgrounds, Boulders Beach, Safari Adventure Golf, World of Dinosaurs and much more.
World of Dinosaurs
Meet the life-size, animatronic Dinosaurs at the incredible World of Dinosaurs attraction. One of the UK’s biggest and most spectacular animatronic dinosaur trails. set in acres of natural woodland. It features 30 life-size, moving and roaring dinosaurs offering a real thrill for any dinosaur adventurer!
Discover Velociraptors, Brachiosaurus, Spinosaurus, Pachycephalosaurs and a mighty T Rex! There’s a Dino Dig area too plus lots of other Dinosaur-themed treats for all the family. This is one of the best animatronic dinosaur adventure trails in the UK.
For a small additional charge, visitors can also experience a Dinosaur Train ride, the ‘Rex Express’, through the World of Dinosaurs, where every twist and turn reveals a new prehistoric surprise.
Adventure Play Areas
Hertfordshire Zoo has five fantastic adventure play areas where the kids can tire themselves out by letting their imagination run wild.
Boulders Beach
If you’re planning a trip to the park in the summer months, then the Boulders Beach Splash Pool is the perfect way for everybody to cool off whilst the kids get wet and wild splashing around and sliding down the Aztec slide.
One Zoo Three on CBBC
Hertfordshire Zoo is home to the series of One Zoo Three on CBBC and BBC iPlayer. Following brothers Aaron, Tyler and Cam, grandsons of the founder, they take on some new wild adventures and show everyone at home what it’s like running a zoo.
This series introduces their sister charity The Big Cat Sanctuary based in Ashford, Kent which houses one of the largest big cat collections in Europe. There is never a dull moment in the program to learn something new and interesting including: Cam’s Cam, Whose Poo? With Ty and even Ask Aaron with a focus on wildlife conservation for all ages.
National Speedway Museum
Peter Sampson is the illustrious owner of Paradise Wildlife Park and was an accomplished speedway racer in the 1960s. He rode for teams such as Rayleigh, Hackney, Rye House, Swindon and Newcastle…quite an impressive list!
When the idea of creating a National Speedway Museum came up, Peter swiftly offered it a home at the Park. The aim is to create something interesting for both existing Speedway enthusiasts and for all Hertfordshire Zoo visitors, who are yet to experience the unique noise, smell, speed and sheer excitement of the sport!
So, no matter whether you’re a die-hard supporter or are new to Speedway, there are hundreds of exhibits and pieces of memorabilia to keep you entertained! Visit the museum shop on the way out and take home one of their great souvenirs to remember your trip to the National Speedway Museum.

Travelling to Hertfordshire Zoo
Hertfordshire Zoo is situated just off the A10 near to junction 25 of the M25. Simply follow the brown and white tourist signs.
Travelling by Train
The nearest train station to Hertfordshire Zoo is in Broxbourne. You will need to take a taxi from the station to the park which is only 5-minutes away. See the Raileasy website for details.
