South Lakes Safari Zoo is home to over 1,000 of the rarest and most endangered animals in unique natural environments. Come face to face with rhinos, lions, tigers, bears, hippos, wolves, snow leopards, jaguars, giant otters, red pandas and much more at the UK’s most interactive animal park and Europe’s only Safari Zoo.
You’ll have a fantastic adventure immersed with some of the rarest wild animals on the planet. Wander amongst kangaroos, wallabies, and lemurs and take the opportunity to hand-feed the giraffes, penguins and kangaroos. Be amazed as free-flying macaws soar overhead and get as close as possible to the free-flying birds living wild in the park, including vultures and condors.

An Educational Day Out
South Lakes Safari Zoo opens up a fascinating world of wildlife and the efforts being made to preserve it both at home and overseas, making it a family day out that is both educational and tremendously enjoyable. The 14-acre family attraction features displays informing visitors about the numerous exotic and native animals to be seen, the facilities provided for their conservation, and South Lakes Safari Zoo ongoing world-renowned breeding programmes.

Travelling to South Lakes Safari Zoo
South Lakes Safari Zoo is situated just off the A590 on the outskirts of Dalton in Furness. Simply follow the brown and white tourist signs or use the postcode LA12 0LU in your sat-nav.
Travelling by Train
The nearest train station to South Lakes Safari Zoo is in Dalton in Furness. You will need to take a taxi from the station to the park which is only 5-minutes away. See the Raileasy website for details.
