In order to help compete with other theme parks in the UK, Lightwater Valley in North Yorkshire has been given the green light to add 31 glamping pods.
Beautiful Countryside Setting
Set in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside with many great attractions on offer in the local area including the adjacent Theme Park, these new glamping pods will no doubt be a great addition helping to transform the family favourite attraction from a theme park to a full on holiday resort.
Short Breaks in North Yorkshire
Planning permission was first granted in 2013 for the change of use of land to allow the siting of 106 holiday units with relevant supporting units. However, a recent planning application was submitted to change the plans for the North East of the site from lodges to glamping pods.
The pods are considerably smaller in size than the lodges and the revised proposal replaces highways with footpaths, reducing the overall environmental impact of the scheme.
Increased Visitor Numbers
The proposed glamping pods will help to increase the park’s catchment area and give people the opportunity to spend a day at the theme park, combined with time exploring North Yorkshire. The park will also benefit from a bigger draw of people who wouldn’t normally drive there just for a single day out.
Also in North Yorkshire, Flamingo Land Resort already offers a number of accommodation options allowing guests to spend more time at the park.
Relaxing Short Breaks
The Stargazing Pods at Alton Towers Resort are a prime example of how families can enjoy a relaxing short break whilst experiencing the thrills of an adjacent theme park.
Also, opening for the 2024 season is the all new LEGOLAND Woodland Village featuring 130 lodges, 20 camping barrels, an on-site restaurant (The Clubhouse Restaurant & Bar) and a family entertainment hub.
The outdoorsy and truly unique experience, allows you to connect with nature whilst keeping it classy, as there are a number of accommodation options available including standard and premium woodland lodges and Woodland Barrels.
