The World’s only Submarium
Dubbed the ‘the world’s only submarium’, The Deep opened at its site overlooking the Humber estuary and River Hull in March 2002, in a stunning building designed by Sir Terry Farrell for the UK National Lottery Millennium Commission. The family attraction featured on a Royal Mail stamp and has become an icon for Kingston-Upon-Hull.

The family attraction offers both an informative and captivating family day out, featuring stunning marine life and plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy. The attraction showcases state of the art interactive displays on its conservation and marine research programmes.
Unlike the majority of aquariums where the highlight is an underwater viewing tunnel your visit to The Deep ends with a thrilling ride on a glass elevator which takes guests back up to ground level offering stunning views of thousands of marine creatures in the 10 metre deep tank which holds 2.5 million litres of water.
Riverside Walk and Victoria Park
Take the riverside walk downstream towards the rivers estuary (away from the Humber Bridge) and where the footpath cuts inwards, head inland to Victoria Park which features open space where the children can burn off some energy and a nice children’s playground. As you take a stroll along the footpaths around The Deep keep a lookout for a variety of local maritime life, including estuarine seals and occasional visitors, porpoises.

The Deep is located in the centre of Hull on the banks of the river Humber just off the A63.
