Roller Coasters

Developed for amusement parks and modern Theme Parks, Roller Coasters are designed to provide amusement. Traditionally Roller Coasters were made from wood and powered using gravity but in modern days there are numerous variations.

Roller coaster Cars

Most roller coasters have multiple cars in which passengers sit and are restrained. When a Rollercoaster has two or more cars linked together it is referred to as a train. Some roller coasters, notably wild mouse roller coasters, run with single cars.

Modern Developments

Recently Virtual Reality Roller Coasters have started to come on the scene. This technology offers a relatively cheap way of revitalising an old ride, for example, Air at Alton Towers has been converted to Galactica.

The Future of Roller coasters

Every year new roller coaster designs are being launched with improvements in safety, thrills and ride capacity being key factors.

The video below is a concept that Mack Rides have developed to help increase load speeds and offer additional ride variety from a single roller coaster track.
