Roller Coasters
Developed for amusement parks and modern Theme Parks, Roller Coasters are designed to provide amusement. Traditionally Roller Coasters were made from wood and powered using gravity but in modern days there are numerous variations.
Roller coaster Cars
Most roller coasters have multiple cars in which passengers sit and are restrained. When a Rollercoaster has two or more cars linked together it is referred to as a train. Some roller coasters, notably wild mouse roller coasters, run with single cars.
Modern Developments
Recently Virtual Reality Roller Coasters have started to come on the scene. This technology offers a relatively cheap way of revitalising an old ride, for example, Air at Alton Towers has been converted to Galactica.
The Future of Roller coasters
Every year new roller coaster designs are being launched with improvements in safety, thrills and ride capacity being key factors.
